CALLER ID ON TV FEATURE COMING FROM Bright House Networks
( St. Petersburg , FL ) – Starting next week, many Bright House Networks customers will no longer have to reach for their phones to see who is calling them while watching TV. On March 1, Bright House Networks is launching Caller ID on TV, a feature that displays the caller's information on a customer's television set.
“This new feature is a dramatic demonstration of converging technologies designed to help simplify our customers lives,” said Terri McNulty, Vice President of the Advanced Broadband -Services unit of Bright House Networks Tampa Bay Division. “Our system-wide launch of Caller ID on TV further illustrates our commitment to leverage our advanced, fiber-rich network to provide customers with value-added products and services.”
With Caller ID on TV, information including the caller's name and phone number will be displayed in the upper left-hand corner on the television screen. The new integrated feature will be available to customers who have the company's Digital Phone and Digital Cable services. Customers with both of these services will automatically receive Caller ID on TV at no additional cost and have access to information about the last 10 incoming calls. The feature can easily be disabled and re-enabled with the remote control.
Caller ID on TV is one of several features that will appear on a new Bright House Networks on-screen navigation system called Access Menu. Customers will also be able to access from the new screen all the On Demand services available from Bright House Networks including Movies On Demand, Favorites On Demand, Premiums On Demand, and Bright House On Demand (My Account On Demand, Daily Edition On Demand, Extra On Demand and Answers On Demand).
“Access Menu offers another simple and easy way for customers to navigate through our Digital Cable offerings and access our new Caller ID on TV feature,” said McNulty. “We think this will be a very popular feature with customers.”
