Bright House Networks Launches Make Life Easier Program
New initiative supports Bright House Networks philosophy in
making life simple through innovative technology
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (July, 25, 2006) - Bright House Networks today announced the launch of its Make Life Easier program, a Florida-wide initiative that aims to simplify complicated lives through innovative technology and service. The program was created to reward one deserving family each month by giving them a free HDTV and Bright House Networks services for one year. The Make Life Easier campaign kicked off Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the International Plaza and Bay Street mall in Tampa.
“Bright House Networks products and services enhance the quality of life through innovative technologies that are easy to get and easy to use,” stated Greg McLaughlin, assistant general manager of Bright House Networks. “Bright House Networks Make Life Easier program is a wonderful way for us to help make life a little easier for families who have been hit by unforeseen complications.”
With the help of local charities, military installations or emergency service organizations, one family each month, living within the Bright House Networks’ Florida service area, will receive the Make Life Easier gift pak. The company’s Florida service area includes 9 counties located in the Tampa Bay vicinity and 7 counties located in the Central Florida (Orlando) vicinity.
To kick-off the Make Life Easier program, Bright House Networks teamed up with the Tampa Police Department and selected Brittany Boone as the first Make Life Easier recipient. The Tampa resident was selected because she made the courageous decision to stop her car and help a Tampa Police officer after witnessing him being shot during what began as a routine traffic stop.
Twenty-year-old Boone works full time and attends Hillsborough Community College. To help simplify her life, Bright House Networks awarded Boone a free 32-inch HDTV from DeSears Appliances, a one-year subscription to Bright House Networks HD Pak, Digital Phone, Digital cable and high speed Internet. And – since she is a college student but does not have a computer - Bright House Networks also provided her with an Acer laptop from Computer Renaissance.
“I want to thank Bright House Networks,” said Boone. “This gift will definitely help make my life easier, especially the computer. Now, I don’t have to go to the computer lab all the time to complete my homework. This is great.”
Bright House Networks Make Life Easier campaign will continue into 2007.
